This weekend many of our second grade students will be receiving their first holy communion. Let us remember them in our prayers. This is a very big step for these children and we pray that it will only be the first of many times that they will receive our dear Lord in communion. This is the holiest of all weeks in the christian church. We remember and celebrate what Jesus did the last week of His life with us on earth.May we all celebrate these days. In religion we have been using the Resurrection Eggs to learn about this.

Even though it seems as though we just came through the Christmas season we are close to Ash Wednesday.

On March 1st we enter into the lenten season with our Ash Wednesday Services. Here at school we will celebrate mass at 1:40 in the afternoon. The first and second graders are cutting palms from last year. We will burn the palms and make our school ashes from those burned palms.Lent is (Continued...)

Tomorrow we celebrate the feast of the Baptism of the Lord. This officially ends the liturgical season of Christmas. Normally it would be celebrated next Sunday but due to when Epiphany fell this year we celebrate the baptism tomorrow. In years gone by the Christmas season ended on February 2nd when the church celebrates the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple. In the Greek and eastern rite (Continued...)

Next week we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Many years ago Mary appeared to a Mexican Indian named Juan Diego.As Juan crossed the hill of Tepeyac on December 9th that special year Juan heard beautiful music.
